Spaceship Typing is a fun, engaging game designed to help children learn how to use a keyboard and type words! With gameplay similar to 1983's Math Blasters, Spaceship Typing challenges players to type the words descending from the top of the screen before they reach the bottom in order to gain points and keep the aliens away from Earth! 

Every 10 words successfully typed increases the word length and the speed of the Alien ships. There are five levels in Normal Mode, starting from 3-letter-words and escalating once per level to 7-letter-words. Players can unlock more Playable Characters and Background Locations by completing each level!

Spaceship Typing also offers a Hard Mode option for more advanced players! Hard Mode requires proper capitalization, faster typing, and has a more extensive word list.

As requested by one of the children it was initially designed for, Spaceship Typing features a variety of unlockable playable characters, including:

• TYRANNOSAURUS RALPH
• CASPER DOG JONES' DOGSHIP
• ???

Spaceship Typing is also customizable! Simply check the README file included in the .zip folder to learn how to edit the word list yourself and ensure your children are learning what they need to, whether it's common household phrases or your own family members' names! 

There are also multiple font options in Spaceship Typing, including OpenDyslexic, which the player can change at will in the Start Menu.   

SPACESHIP TYPING IS MEANT TO BE PLAYED WITH A KEYBOARD!

This learning game is meant to teach children how to become more familiar with a physical keyboard. As such, it is recommended to use a PC or Mac while playing, or a Tablet/Mobile Device with a physical keyboard attached.

Spaceship Typing has NO online functionality and NO data collection features. 

HOW TO INSTALL: Download the .zip file and then unzip it to your Games folder or other preferred location. Click Spaceship_Typing.html to open the game in your local browser.
